We in the church have, at times, complicated the plan of Salvation. Often times churches use church language the best link their denomination to specific Bible verses and intertwine tradition with scripture. We want to make the message clear just by using the Lord Jesus' words from John 3:16. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life". Can it be that simple, aren't there particular steps that we have to follow in order for us to be saved or to be "Born-Again"? Jesus was talking to a religious man who thought that it took particular steps in order to be in the Kingdom of God. Jesus made it clear for a complicated man that believing in Him, which means having confidence and being persuaded that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died to provide us the forgiveness of our sins. Something spectacular happens when we have this kind of faith. Christ puts His Spirit in us which enables us to hear His voice so we can now repent (change direction) of our sins and receive such forgiveness and begin our new walk in the kingdom of God as disciples or followers of Christ. This is where church falls into place. Church provides the fellowship with not only God's spirit as a group of disciples, but it also proves fellowship with fellow disciples that were once lost as you were. In the book of Acts, the Apostle Peter was asked, by some that had just heard him preach, what shall we do with this new faith. He told them, "Repent and be baptized and be filled with the Holy Spirit.
